The theatrical presentation Voices of the Golden Ghosts will debut at Pops Performing Arts and Cultural Center in Dunsmuir on October 20th. The public is invited to attend showings at 1:00 p.m or 7:00 p.m.
Victor Martin and other local performers will present a series of theatrical vignettes about the life of African Americans involved the Gold Mining of 1850’s Northern California. The paradox of California as a free state for African Americans will be explored in a series of historical presentations aimed to explore the ambivalence of contemporary California attitudes toward race.
