Tribute to Pete Seeger in Dunsmuir, California

Siskiyou County will be celebrating the life and music of Pete Seeger, the legendary folksinger who died last month at age 94. A singalong Tribute To Pete Seeger will take place February 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the POPS Performing Arts & Cultural Center in Dunsmuir.

The event will feature an all-star cast of singers and musicians, including Leslie Tift and Tom Scott, Allison Scull and Victor Martin, Evelyn Horner and Knight Starr.  “It will be a great sendoff for Pete, and I know he’d want everyone, performers and audience alike, to come prepared to sing their hearts out,” said Tim Holt, one of the event’s organizers. The Performing Arts Center is at 5819 Sacramento Avenue, across from the Dunsmuir railyards. A $5 donation is suggested to help meet the Center’s expenses. Refreshments will be provided as a fundraiser for Dunsmuir Hometown Heritage Days, formerly Railroad Days.
